Civil War letters, May 19, 1864-June 5, 1865, sent to his brother (William Denton) of New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The letters were sent from various locales in Virginia and from an army hospital in Philadelphia. Denton's letter of May 19, 1864 contains a partial account of the Battle of Spotsylvania, including casualties suffered by his company.
